Marc Marquez will be determined to become the first rider to win back-to-back
Emilia Romagna MotoGP titles having won the 2021 event.

The Ducati Gresini Racing MotoGP rider was in top form at the San Marino and Rimini Riviera MotoGP on 8 September, the most recent event on the 2024 MotoGP calendar.
Marquez started on the ninth grid and he passed several motorbikes which saw him win the race and that earned him 25 points from the event staged in Misano Adriatico.
MotoGP title ambitions
The 31-year-old remains third on the 2024 MotoGP Riders' standings having accumulated 259 points from 13 races.
Marquez is now 46 points behind second-placed Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team and 53 points behind leader Jorge Martin of Ducati Prima Pramac Racing.
Why Marquez could win the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP
Marquez will be returning to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli where he was crowned champion two weeks ago at the San Marino and Rimini Riviera MotoGP.
The experienced rider will be confident of successfully defending his Emilia Romagna MotoGP title having won the race at the same venue three years ago.
What did he say?
“Those rain drops helped a lot… Maybe Fausto looked down and gave us a helping hand," Marquez said after winning the 2024 San Marino and Rimini Riviera MotoGP.
"I thought I had nothing to lose and gave it all. Honestly, I would have never got back to the pits to change the bike, and surely not that soon. Had it rained for a couple of more laps then maybe…
"But I chose to follow the instincts of the home riders who stayed out. I can’t say if it’s an open championship again, but we want to continue looking for consistency.”
